Verum Terra Signs Partnership Agreement with Eastern Visayas State University

Bridging Industry and Academia

Verum Terra Geoscience Inc. and Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) establishing a comprehensive partnership aimed at advancing geoscience research, providing hands-on training opportunities for students, and building local technical capacity in the mining and earth sciences sectors.

The signing ceremony, held at the EVSU main campus in Tacloban City, was attended by university officials, company executives, faculty members, and students from the College of Engineering and the Department of Environmental Science.

Partnership Components

The agreement encompasses several key areas of collaboration:

  • Student Internship Program: EVSU students in geology, mining engineering, and environmental science will be offered structured internship placements at Verum Terra’s project sites, providing real-world exposure to professional geoscience practice
  • Joint Research Projects: Faculty members and company geoscientists will collaborate on applied research projects, including mineral characterization, environmental baseline studies, and geological hazard mapping
  • Guest Lecture Series: Verum Terra professionals will deliver technical lectures and workshops at EVSU, sharing industry insights and emerging trends in geoscience
  • Equipment and Laboratory Support: The company will provide laboratory equipment and sample materials to support the university’s teaching and research programs
  • Scholarship Enhancement: Additional scholarship slots will be reserved for outstanding EVSU students pursuing degrees in geoscience-related fields

Long-Term Vision

The partnership represents a long-term investment in developing the region’s human capital. By connecting students with real-world mining and exploration operations, the program aims to produce graduates who are not only academically prepared but also industry-ready.

The EVSU President expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “This collaboration with Verum Terra opens tremendous opportunities for our students and faculty. It is partnerships like these that bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, ultimately benefiting the communities of Eastern Visayas.”
